We are a small, family-focused Rat Terrier breeding program located in Molalla, Oregon. We raise AKC-registered Rat Terriers with full genetic panel testing, focusing on healthy, well-socialized companions and versatile farm dogs. Our puppies are raised in our home with daily love, structure, and early socialization to prepare them for life as confident family members. We carefully match each puppy to the right home based on temperament, lifestyle, and overall fit.

Puppy play time!
I started The Puppy Patch out of a lifelong love for Rat Terriers. I have owned Rat Terriers my entire life, and their intelligence, loyalty, and versatility continue to inspire me to preserve and improve this incredible breed.
I live in Molalla, Oregon, where my dogs are first and foremost members of our family. They are raised in our home and enjoy the space and freedom of our rural property every day.
My background in veterinary medicine, combined with my experience as a Fear Free Certified Professional, greatly influences how I raise and socialize my dogs and puppies. I currently work as a veterinary assistant while pursuing my goal of becoming a veterinarian, working closely alongside Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) and veterinarians as part of a close-knit veterinary team. This experience has given me valuable insight into canine health, behavior, preventive care, and client education.
In addition to breeding, I volunteer with the Portland Street Dog Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing veterinary care and support services to pets belonging to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Through this work, I assist in providing preventive veterinary care, client education, and compassionate support to both pets and their people. This experience has reinforced my belief that the human-animal bond is incredibly important and that every pet deserves access to quality care and compassionate treatment.
I also volunteer with the Oregon Humane Society when time allows, continuing to expand my understanding of canine behavior, enrichment, and animal welfare.
I place a strong emphasis on health, early positive experiences, and thoughtful socialization. I am intentional about how puppies are handled and introduced to new environments so they develop confidence without unnecessary stress.
My goal is to produce Rat Terriers that are not only structurally sound and health-tested, but also stable, well-socialized, and ready to thrive as loving family companions or capable farm partners. All of my breeding dogs undergo comprehensive genetic health testing, and all puppies are AKC registered. Each litter is carefully planned with long-term breed preservation in mind.
I do not routinely dock tails or remove dewclaws, as I believe these procedures should only be performed when medically necessary. As a result, puppies produced through my program are left natural unless a licensed veterinarian determines that intervention is necessary for the individual puppy's health or welfare.
From the moment they are born, puppies are handled daily and exposed to normal household life. I believe those early weeks are foundational and play a major role in shaping temperament and preparing puppies for successful transitions into their new homes.
My goal isn't simply to place puppies. It is to build lifelong relationships with families and provide ongoing support throughout the life of each dog.
At The Puppy Patch, I raise Rat Terriers with intention, integrity, and heart.
