I have owned companion dogs of many different breeds all my life. I've also fostered many dogs for several rescues and shelters or taken in strays and looked for their owners. If the owner could not be found, I brought them in for veterinary care. Once they were healthy and spayed/neutered, I found them caring homes. One of my favorite breeds has always been the Shih Tzu. After much research and training classes, I decided to breed my AKC registered Shih Tzu. My goal is to produce quality puppies that meet the AKC conformation standard and have a good temperament.
The Shih Tzu breed in general is playful, outgoing, and intelligent. Their beautiful coat can be grown out long or trimmed short. If left long they will need daily brushing. They are small but sturdy dogs, the AKC breed standard calls for 9-16 pounds as an adult.
