About

Proud to be recognized as an AKC Breeder of Merit! Forest City Standard Poodles is a small, intentionally run breeding program based in suburban Central Florida. Our dogs are not kennel dogs; they live in our home as companions, partners, and working dogs. Every decision we make begins with one guiding principle: breed better dogs, not just prettier ones.

Temperament is our top priority. We breed for confident, reliable dogs who adapt to diverse environments and tasks. Many of our puppies serve as task-trained service dogs for 503(c) organizations, underscoring our commitment to producing poodles with strong, balanced temperaments.

Health is central to our breeding program. We currently have four generations of poodles on property, with the great-grandmother of our youngest still thriving at the age of 11. At this time our dogs have no history of bloat, Addisons, or sebaceous adenitis.

All of our breeding dogs undergo extensive health and genetic testing to exceed the standards set by the breed club requirements. They are listed with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and are tested at minimum for:
-• Hip Dysplasia
-• Eye Health (CAER, prcd-PRA, rcd4-PRA, Day Blindness/Retinal Degeneration)
-• Cardiac Health (Doppler echocardiograph)
-• Full genetic disease panel including Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE), von Willebrand's Disease (vWD)
-• UC Davis Canine Genetic Diversity testing

We are active in conformation and our dogs earn titles across venues like AKC, UKC, and IABCA, showcasing their excellence in conformation and sports. As a member of the West Volusia Kennel Club, we continually further our knowledge through breed education, purebred activities, and training.

Our mission is simple, even if the execution is not: to produce Standard Poodles that are stable in mind, capable in body, and worthy of the breed's legacy.

We are professionals with careers outside the animal field, but dogs have been our lifelong passion. With over 50 years immersed in the purebred dog world, our approach is rooted in study, experience, and respect for the breed's history. We breed thoughtfully, sparingly, and with intention-”always asking whether a pairing truly improves the dogs that come after.
